Hello! I’m going crazy and comin’ at ya on a Thursday! Say whaaaat? “What is this madness?!” I hear you cry! But I’m so excited to share with you some news! I can finally reveal that I am super lucky to be partnering up with some of my favourite haberdashery brands to bring you a small series of new product reviews!
I’ve been given some new products to try out and give my honest opinions on. I am excited to try some new things and work with some amazing brands which I am sure many of us already use. Does Gutermann ring any bells? Ever heard of Clover? Vlieseline? and Sew Easy? Of course you have! They’re huge! And I am so excited to be working with them!
First up in my series of sewing tool/haberdashery reviews are some pins. Seems ordinary right? Anyone who sews needs pins, you probably already have some. But these pins are a little bit special. They were the top of my list of things to ask for from Clover, they were even on my Mother’s Day wishlist! (Hint to anyone with a crafty mum – she would definitely like these!) They are marbled glass headed pins and they are sooo pretty!
I have been after some glass headed pins for a while as I am constantly concerned that I am going to melt my cheap plastic ones with an iron. But there are so many different kinds of pins out there that I wouldn’t know where to start. Fortunately, these are pretty. So decision made! They come in packs of 20 and the glass heads vary a lot in size which make them feel very unique and special. They are also sharp. I didn’t realise how blunt my old pins were until I used these – they are WAY more sharp!
I have been using these pins for two different projects and they have held up to both a thick corduroy project and a fine cotton one so they definitely seem versatile! I also love that I can use them near a hot iron and not worry about melting them.
Finally, I am probably the only seamstress out there with a phobia of pins and needles. Anyone else out there? I am terrified of injections and feel instantly sick if I prick myself with a pin. The idea of sewing through a finger is pretty much my worst nightmare. Sadly, I can’t claim these pins are a cure for that BUT I do like that they come in their own little envelope with a slot for each pin.
I need to know where they all are at all times so using a pincushion etc is out of the question for me. I used to use one of those wheels of pins as I need to count them away at the end of each session so that I don’t freak out I am going to step on one ( I know I’m a total weirdo!) so I love that these pins come in this cute pastel envelope so I can keep track of them all!
Disclaimer: ⭐️Pins were provided free of charge in exchange for a review. All opinions are totally my own, and I wouldn’t recommend something I didn’t like!
